This is my personal website. I want to be upfront about what happens when you visit.
What I collect
This site is a set of static files. There is no account, no form, no newsletter, and no database of subscribers. Optional analytics collects information about how you use the site, as described below.
Analytics
With your permission, I use Microsoft Clarity to understand which pages are useful and where visitors have trouble. Clarity collects usage and interaction data, including page visits, clicks, scrolling, device and browser information, and technical information such as IP addresses. It provides heatmaps and session replays that help me improve the site.
The cookie consent banner offers Accept and Reject with equal prominence. Clarity is not loaded, its cookies are not set, and no data is sent to it unless you choose Accept. Choosing Reject does not affect access to any content or resources. Continuing to browse or ignoring the banner does not give consent. The site grants analytics storage consent only, not advertising storage consent. Clarity's default masking protects sensitive page content; this site does not send custom names, email addresses or account identifiers to Clarity.
Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page to change your choice. If you withdraw consent, the site removes Clarity's first-party cookies and reloads without Clarity. This stops future collection; it does not erase data already collected.

Cookies
The site stores your cookie consent choice in your browser's local storage under laskewitz-analytics-consent, so it can remember both acceptance and rejection. This preference storage is used only to remember your choice, not for tracking. You can change it through Cookie settings or clear it with your browser's site data. Clearing site data brings the cookie consent banner back.
If you choose Accept, Clarity can set _clck and _clsk first-party cookies to recognize repeat visits and connect page views into a session. See Microsoft's Clarity cookie documentation for cookie purposes and lifetimes. The site works without accepting these cookies.
Third-party services
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may collect technical information (like IP addresses) as part of serving the site. See GitHub's privacy statement for details.
Some pages link out to other sites. Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy applies.
