Abstract

A year ago we introduced Model Context Protocol and compared it to connectors in the Power Platform. Plenty has changed. MCP went from a word people repeated to something you can build on, and Microsoft has shipped real updates to how MCP and connectors work together.

Mats and Daniel cover what is new in 2026: deeper platform support for MCP, how MCP servers and custom connectors now relate to each other, and the one everybody asks about, which is building your own MCP server with low code directly in the Power Platform.
